We recently became aware of AI-generated music being released under the name ONE IF BY LAND by an entity that is not affiliated with us in any way.
To be clear: this is not our band, not our music, and not a continuation of our work.
This situation has already begun to cause confusion among listeners and complications on our end as we continue to release and maintain our catalog as an independent, self-managed band. As artists who have built everything ourselves over many years—writing, recording, releasing, and performing our own material—having our name used in this way is both frustrating and disruptive.
We are actively working to have this content removed and to prevent further misuse of our name across digital platforms. This includes reaching out to distributors and platforms where this material has appeared.
A significant portion of the issue involves content distributed through DistroKid. While DistroKid maintains its own policies regarding AI-generated content and upload requirements, the current system still allows material to be uploaded and released without sufficient verification of artist identity. Our experience so far has been that addressing and removing this content has been slow and difficult, and support has not yet resolved the issue.
We recognize the challenges involved in moderating the volume of independent music being released every day. However, for independent artists—especially those who are fully self-funded and self-managed—there is a real impact when another party is able to release music under an established name without authorization.
We will continue pursuing all available channels to correct this issue and protect our catalog and identity as a band.
In the meantime, we appreciate the support of anyone who has followed our music over the years and ask that listeners be aware that any AI-generated releases under our name are not affiliated with us.
